The 2005 Test Valley Business Awards
Nominated for the Test Valley Business Awards, we were later short-listed into the top three entrants in our category, The Waitrose 'Achieving Business Excellence Through People' Award.
On September 26th the company directors, Nigel Powell, Peter Taylor and James Lai were invited to attend the Nomination & Award Ceremony, held at Chilworth Manor near Southampton.
Widenet Computer Services were proud to be announced as the outright winners of the award, which was presented to them by David Gower OBE and Mr Crispin Ingham from the Waitrose group.
Widenet have continued to flourish and still hold to the principal, that investment in people is one of the key factors in running a successful business.
Hampshire Chambers of Commerce - Golf Tournaments
Between 2006 and 2012, the Hampshire Chambers of Commerce hosted an annual golf tournament for businesses thoughout Hampshire, with an average of 15 - 20 teams entering each year.
Widenet were fortunate to win the competition four times (2006, 2008, 2009 and 2011) and acheive the runners up trophy twice. Nigel remains very grateful to his regular team mates for their dedication, perseverance and ability to 'carry him' (on some occasions) whilst obtaining these successful results over the years.
